The conference will take place on San Servolo Island, a historic and unique location in the Venetian lagoon
The monumental hystoric complex on the island conveniently combines on-site workspace and accommodation for more practical and functional event organisation and to offer participants the possibility of a pleasant stay a few minutes from the historic center.
The complex on the island of San Servolo is immersed in a lovely park, and offers modern conference facilities combined with the charm of Venice.
How to reach the venue:
From San Zaccaria (near Saint Mark's Square) to San Servolo

VAPORETTO TICKETS
- Single ticket, 75 minutes, transfers included: € 9.50 (return trip San Zaccaria – San Servolo: € 19.00)
- Travel cards, unlimited travel from first validation: 24 h € 25.00, 48 h € 35.00, 72 h € 45.00, 7 days € 65.00
A travel card is convenient from about four one-way journeys onwards. The 7-day card covers the whole conference period. Participants under 30 can buy a Rolling Venice card (€ 6.00, at any Venezia Unica office) and then a 72-hour ticket at € 27.00.
Reduced "Carta Venezia" fares that you may find online apply to resident cardholders only.
WHERE TO BUY
Tickets are sold by Venezia Unica, the official ticket service of the City of Venice:
- AVM Venezia Official App: buy in advance, activate before boarding. Easiest option on arrival.
- Ticket offices and automatic machines at Piazzale Roma, Santa Lucia railway station, San Zaccaria
- Online at www.veneziaunica.it
- On board line 20, single tickets only, to be requested when boarding, card payment
- Contactless bank card or smartphone tapped on the validator, single tickets only
Always validate at the reader on the pier before boarding and at every change of line. Travelling without a validated ticket carries a fine.
FROM THE AIRPORT
ACTV tickets and travel cards are not valid on Alilaguna services and do not include the airport bus lines.
From Marco Polo, the Alilaguna Blue line stops at San Zaccaria "B1", a few metres from the line 20 pier (€ 18.00 one way, € 32.00 return). Alternatively, take the bus to Piazzale Roma and then waterbus line 2 or 1 to San Zaccaria.
No Venice access fee applies in late September.
