GADEST 2026 Awards – In Memory of Dr. Vladimir Voronkov
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsor GlobalWafers-MEMC Electronic Materials, GADEST 2026 is pleased to announce the establishment of two awards, each with a value of 500 EUR, dedicated to young presenters at the conference.
Both awards are established in memory of Dr. Vladimir Voronkov, who passed away in 2024, not long after his participation in the latest GADEST conference in Bad Schandau. Dr. Voronkov was an oustanding Researcher at GlobalWafers-MEMC Electronic Materials and made fundamental contributions to semiconductor science, particularly in the field of silicon and vacancy-related defects. Through these awards, the GADEST community wishes to honor his outstanding scientific legacy and his long-standing contribution to the conference.
Young Student Award (YSA)
The Young Student Award (YSA) will be assigned to the best student presentation at GADEST 2026. The award recognizes scientific excellence, originality, and clarity of presentation by students actively engaged in research within the GADEST scientific scope.
Young Researcher Award (YRA)
The Young Researcher Award (YRA) will be assigned to the best presentation by a young researcher under the age of 40.This award acknowledges high-quality and innovative research contributions by early-career scientists within the GADEST community.
Award Ceremony and Memorial Presentation
The award ceremony will be accompanied by a special memorial presentation by Dr. Robert Falster, long-standing contributor to the GADEST conference, member of the GADEST Executive Committee, and friend and colleague of Vladimir Voronkov. In his talk, Robert Falster will highlight the unique scientific contribution of Dr. Vladimir Voronkov to the GADEST community and to the field of semiconductor science.
