If you come by flight:
The airports nearest Padova are:
- M. Polo Airport in Venice (VEN)
- A. Canova Airport in Treviso (TSF)
These are connected to Padova by a bus service (timetable and info at: www.fsbusitalia.it and E060-Z line). In case you are landing very late in the evening you should use a taxi just at the exit of the airport or the shuttle service here: www.goopti.com.
If you are landing in Caravaggio Airport (BGY), Bergamo the easiest way to reach Padova is catching a Flixbus (www.flixbus.com). Another option is to catch a bus to Bergamo train station (www.atb.bergamo.it) and then catch a train, or more probably a couple of trains, to Padova (see next section for details)
Finally if you are landing in Milano Malpensa(MPX) you should reach the main train station by bus or by train (all the info at: www.milanomalpensa-airport.com). From there catch a train to Padova (see next section for details).
If you come by train:
Padova is very well connected by train with the rest of Italy and with the nearer Europe countries. To plan your trip at best check both: www.trenitalia.com and www.italotreno.com.
If you come by car:
Padova is connected to east and to west Europe through the A4 highway.
A13 highway connects Padova to the south of Italy
From north Europe the main entries are the A9 highway to Milan and then A4 to Padova or the A22 highway to Verona and then A4 to Padova.
The meeting location is in the historical center and no many free parking places are available.
Some park areas are in Via Corso Milano. Piazza Dante, via Giotto, Piazza Rabin
Once you reach Padova:
Moving inside the city is easy and you have many options: tram, buses see map here. For tickets and info download the app Busitalia Veneto
Of course you could use a taxi, you will find many of them at the exit of the train station.
If you want to extend your stay you might want to rent a car (Europcar, Hertz and Avis are the agencies close to the train station).
One of the best way to visit Padova is however by bike, download the app BicinCitta' or RideMovi
Finally since Padova is not such a big town you could easily walk through the historical center.
