In the framework of the SPES project at INFN-LNL research activities on the application of nuclear physics to medicine are ongoing. In particular, the LARAMED program is focused on the production of medical radionuclides for innovative radiopharmaceuticals using the direct activation method. Since the knowledge of the nuclear cross sections is a key ingredient in the optimization of medical radionuclides production, these interdisciplinary research activities include as a fundamental step the measurements of unexplored production routes. This seminar will focus on the case of the theranostic Sc-47 showing data obtained using proton beams on different target materials.
