Description

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) is
a transformative decade-long mission designed to map the southern sky with
unprecedented depth and cadence. This is a crucial moment in history since
the survey is finally starting and will give access to its vast data products thanks
to the Data Rights acquired by the Italian community through "in-kind contributions"
coordinated by INAF at national level. These contributions involve providing
high-level software, computing resources, observing time, and scientific expertise
to the Rubin community. This framework ensures that Italian researchers can lead
scientific discoveries in one of the most ambitious astronomical projects of the 21st
century.

At the Observatory there is a large community of researchers involved in Rubin/LSST
holding Data-rights allowing the participation in various Science Collaborations.
The goal of the present Information Day on the 26 of march is to open the doors
of this "cosmic construction site" to possible collaborations and sinergies to see
how Rubin's data can enhance your specific field of study.
