Description
Recent analyses of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) polarization data from satellite missions (both WMAP and Planck) as well as from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope, suggest a possible hint of cosmic birefringence (rotation of the linear polarization plane). We discuss the imprints of a redshift/time dependent cosmological pseudoscalar field on the CMB polarization power spectra. We consider several theoretically motivated redshift dependencies of the pseudoscalar field and assess their impact on the power spectra.
