Description

The OSIRIS-REx mission, launched by NASA in 2016, aimed to study the asteroid Bennu, with the main goal of providing valuable insights into the early Solar System. After reaching Bennu in 2018, the spacecraft spent years mapping and analyzing the asteroid's surface. In 2020, it successfully collected the asteroid's regolith using its TAGSAM instrument. The samples finally landed in Utah in September 2023 and are currently being analyzed.

A description of this daring mission will be presented at the seminar, together with the first results obtained from sample curation and analysis.
