Description

Giving a talk is an integral part of any scientific activity, and can mark definitive steps in the career of astronomers and scientists at large. We give talks to defend our master or PhD theses, to advertise our results at conferences, and to secure jobs or grants. Nonetheless, it is often left to everyone's initiative to learn even the basics of how to structure and deliver these presentations. The present seminar offers my personal, incomplete, and highly biased compilation of tips and rules on how to pick and organize the content of your presentations, how to design the supporting slides, and how to maximize the effectiveness of the delivery.
