Title: A short journey through topological quantum matter
Date: February 23, at 3 PM
Where: Aula Rostagni, Zoom meeting and YouTube streaming
Abstract: Topological quantum materials have emerged in the last few years as a new field in condensed matter physics, offering an exciting arena for fundamental research as well as promising potential for the development of new technologies. In this talk, we will embark on a short journey through the fascinating world of topological matter, focusing on topological
insulators and topological semimetals. We will discuss basic concepts of topology, including the Berry phase and the Chern number,
their application in understanding the properties of these materials, and recent advances in the field.
