Description
The ability to detect gravitational waves is changing how we look at the Universe and ushering us into a new era of astronomy. Pulsar Timing Arrays (PTAs), which use precisely timed millisecond pulsars to detect ripples in space-time induced by passing gravitational waves, have recently observed the first hint of a background of gravitational waves in the nHz frequency band. In this talk, I will discuss possible beyond-standard-model sources of gravitational waves in the nHz band and, more in general, how we can use PTAs to discover or constrain new physics theories.
