ABSTRACT
The time-dependent phenomena in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are not yet well-understood. Those sources are massive, with a broad range of physical properties and observations across the entire electromagnetic spectrum to explore. In radio-quiet AGN energy is emitted mainly by radiative processes around the supermassive black hole and the expected variability from stochastic origin alone cannot explain the drastic changes in brightness that are observed in changing look/changing-state AGN. Understanding the nature of such rapid changes is a challenge to the models of accretion flow onto the black hole. Some scenario mechanisms are already proposed. I discuss various models from the literature and focus on the model of radiation pressure instability taking into account the presence of inner advection-dominated accretion flow (ADAF) or of magnetic fields.
