Description

With the discovery of the Higgs boson, there has been a breakthrough in phenomenology: it is now possible to predict and measure its couplings with all other particles. To this end, the community of experimental particle physicists has initiated a monumental data campaign that will continue for many years to come with the high luminosity phase at the LHC and plans for the colliders of the future. The challenge faced by the theoretical community is to formulate predictions affected by theoretical uncertainties smaller than those predicted experimentally. In the seminar I will discuss the case of Higgs boson production using some of the most recent techniques, which seem to offer a viable way forward when the number of scales involved is relatively high.
