Galaxy Evolution in and around the Antlia Cluster: From S-PLUS to 4MOST/CHANCES

Description
Galaxy clusters are key environments for studying how galaxies evolve and how environmental processes affect their morphology and star-formation activity. In this seminar, I will present our analysis of the nearby Antlia cluster, tracing galaxy properties from its central region out to 5R200. Using the 12-band photometry of S-PLUS, we combine structural information from multi-band GALFITM modelling with Hα-based estimates of star formation to investigate galaxy morphology, star-formation activity, local environment, and substructure. We identify multiple substructures extending to the cluster outskirts, with outer groups dominated by star-forming and late-type galaxies, while the massive central substructure hosts a more environmentally processed population. The persistence of star-forming and late-type systems even within the virialised region further points to ongoing galaxy accretion and transformation. Together, these results reveal Antlia as a dynamically active cluster still assembling its galaxy population. I will also discuss the connection of this work with 4MOST/CHANCES, for which S-PLUS provides the photometric target catalogue in the Antlia region.
