DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Alice Zurlo (Universidad Diego Portales - Chile)\n\n
\n\nIn this seminar\, I will present the latest results of the Millennium
Nucleus of Young Exoplanets and their Moons (YEMS) team. We presented the
first detection of an exosatellite around a BD companion. This discovery h
as been made with the use of the radial velocity technique\, the same tech
nique that was used to detect the first exoplanet around a solar-type star
. In this case\, the BD companion was the target of the radial velocity mo
nitoring. We found a signal compatible with a sub-Jupiter mass satellite a
round the BD companion. \nI will also present the confirmation of the you
ngest exoplanet ever detected\, around the star Elias 2-24. The planet is
still forming\, and it is detected within the protoplanetary disk. The con
firmation of Elias 2-24 b\, currently the youngest planet detected through
high-contrast imaging\, has important implications for planet formation t
imescales\, demonstrating that giant planets can form through core accreti
on at separations of ~50 au within only ∼ 1 Myr\, supporting the idea th
at such planets are responsible for the gaps observed in large and bright
disks at these young ages.\n \n\nJoin Zoom Meeting  \n \nhttps://unipd.
