DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Andrea De Girolamo\n\n\n\nQuantum computers promise
significant speedups for several hard problems\, but noise still limits t
heir performance and scalability. Transitioning from the Noisy Intermediat
e Scale Quantum (NISQ) era to fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) will
require addressing errors through both quantum and classical techniques.
In this talk\, I will present how my research on numerical methods for
integrating quantum computers contributes to this goal. First\, I will int
roduce quantum compilation -- the problem of mapping a quantum circuit int
o an equivalent one that can be run on real hardware -- and show how it ca
n be rewritten as a thermodynamic process that exhibits Ising-type phase t
 ransitions. Then\, I will discuss a proposal for a hybrid classic-quantum
framework based on tree tensor networks for simulating quantum dynamics\,
 extending the capabilities of near-term quantum devices.\n\n \n\n \n\nht
