Axion inflation in the regime of homogeneous backreaction

I will discuss the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background (SGWB) produced in axion

inflation coupled to gauge fields. I will focus on the role of inflaton gradient energy and the limitations of the homogeneous backreaction approximation (where inhomogeneities of the inflaton field are neglected), presenting examples where a detectable SGWB arises while the inflaton gradient energy remains subdominant throughout inflation.
