An internationally renowned comic artist will show how to translate technical and data-driven knowledge into compelling narrative art.

 

Did you know that comics could also be a great way to organize and disseminate difficult scientific, historical and journalistic information in a clearer and more impactful format? In this talk, we will look at the basic procedure of creating such a work from beginning to end, following a series of suggested guidelines that simplify the process with a focus on collaboration between scientist and artist.

Omar Khouri is a multi- and interdisciplinary artist working with painting, comics, film, video games and music, to name a few. In 2006, he co-founded Samandal Comics, the first experimental comics collective in the Middle East. He He is co-author and illustrator of the first graphic report to be included in an official UN Human Rights report. He lives and works in North Lebanon.
