SymTFT and the Supergravity Swampland

I will review the discrepancy between seemingly consistent global gauge group structures of supergravity theories and those that can be found in the known String Landscape, in the context of the Swampland programme. Then I will discuss how concepts from generalized symmetries, in particular the Symmetry TFT, can provide a bottom-up explanation of this discrepancy, and help “draining” the swampland of supergravity gauge groups.
